About Me
I’m a middle grade fantasy writer who loves stories with heart, atmosphere, and a touch of magic. My writing grew naturally out of my life with children. First as a teacher, then as a parent, and eventually as a storyteller. I originally began writing small stories just for my own boys, shaping worlds that reflected their curiosity, their questions, and the quiet courage I saw in them. Over time, those bedtime tales grew into full manuscripts and a deeper love for crafting stories that speak to young readers.
My background in education and child development shapes the way I write. I’ve spent years teaching children in different parts of the world, and those experiences taught me how kids imagine, how they learn, and how deeply they connect with stories. I homeschool my two middle‑grade‑aged boys, and my experience raising a neurodivergent child has given me a profound appreciation for emotional nuance and the many ways children make sense of the world. These threads naturally weave themselves into my characters and the themes I explore.
I’m also an artist who works in graphite realism, and that attention to detail, the way light falls, the way expression shifts, the way nature holds its own quiet magic, influences the atmosphere of my writing. When I’m not working on a manuscript, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my family, rock climbing, running, or spending time with animals. Those moments in nature often spark the wonder that finds its way into my stories.
I’m currently working on a middle grade fantasy project rooted in friendship, forest magic, and the kind of bravery that grows slowly and quietly over time. My hope is to create stories that feel like safe places to land—books filled with wonder, emotion, and the sense that magic might be waiting just beyond the treeline.
